I too have been "bitten" by the corn snake bug! We started out with one albino in December and now have 8...........The albino, a snow, a butter, a creamsicle, black albino, anery, normal and reverse okeetee.
My 6 year old wanted a reptile pet and fell in love with the corn snake....the first albino. Then mom got involved and now we have a whole living room full of snakes. Ridiculous as it may sound, this has almost immediately become my new hobby. I wasn't too keen on feeding live so we have a fresh supply of frozen pinks in the freezer and we are off and running.
They are all wonderful creatures, and each and every one of them has a different personality. They are GREAT pets, I just wish more people understood that they are not aggressive and wonderful pets for kids as long as the kids are gentle.
I have Kathy Love's book and a lot of inexperience but I hope that I can learn a lot here to help me become a responsible snake mother!!! So far, so good.
Hi Lori...welcome to the addiction. Hit you hard...and quick...oh my...
I can sympathize. Glad you got Kathy's book. It certainly helps to ease those few first weeks of stress when we're the most concerned about doing everything 'just right'.
The Source is a great site. Enjoy your visits. Enjoy your corns!
Welcome, Lori!
I have a similar story involving my son and leopard geckos... So far we still only have the one corn snake, though. We are both anxious to remedy that situation.
I thought the same thing as Ruth when I read your introduction post. The snake addiction has bitten you hard, 1 in December and now 8 total with some days left in January.........LOL. Welcome to the site and please post some pics up for us to check out your collection.
