I am new to the forum, but not new to the world of corns. I was lucky enough to discover these gentle, beautiful snakes several years ago. And quite naturally, I got "addicted" to them, and now I am owned by 27 corns, 3 kings, and one milk snake! I also have a husband and a kitty (luckily the husband tolerates the snakes and kitty!). I started out purchasing the snakes as pets, but then last year I became interested in breeding them. Last summer my first and only clutch so far hatched. My female laid 14 eggs, and 7 hatched. The 50% hatch ratio seemed kind of low to me, but it was the pair's first time breeding, so I'm guessing that's why. But anyway, I have 7 beautiful Sunglow motley babies now, and they are getting big! I've been putting it off, but I know I need to part with most of them (especially since 6 are males!). That brings me to my first question for you all...where do you usually sell your babies? I'm going to post this question as a separate thread also, in case it doesn't get seen here. Haha, many people have probably stopped reading by now because I've been rambling on and on!
Anyway, I've already read lots of great info here and I look forward to learning more!
Hi Brandi! It's great to have you here. Sounds like you have a wonderful collection of snakes. I'd love to see pics of your collection and beautiful little Sunglow Mots! Enjoy your visits and welcome!
I did not have optimal lighting for these pictures, so unfortunately their colors didn't show up as vibrant in the pictures as they really are (especially the adults). Hopefully I will get around to taking some better ones soon. The first picture is of the father, and the second picture (lighter colored snake) is of the mother. Next are their babies, which I'll have to divide into 2 posts. The last baby (which will be in the second post) is smaller because I couldn't get him to eat for a while, but he is eating great now so hopefully he will catch up to the rest soon.
