I did not see a section for this, so I thought I would start a thread. Any/all information, books, pictures of trips, upcoming trips, questions, books, supplies, tips, etc. would be welcomed in this thread. I personally don't have anything to add as the only snakes I ever found was while deer/quail/pheasant hunting or general fishing. It wasn't ever a planned trip and most of those were either bull snakes or rattlesnakes as I grew up in SE New Mexico/West Texas. Now that I live in South-Central Texas I would like to get more involved in it.
Anyway, I do have one question. Most of the time you hear people talking about taking trips, it is almost always in the spring/summer months for some reason. I was thinking that fall/winter would be better because more than likely the snakes would be in a brumation period or just generally slower due to the weather and day length. It seems like all you would have to do is start walking and turning over rocks, boards, etc. and find all you want. Is this a wrong way to think about it?
Please join in on this thread and make it like your own. Thanks

Galen
