A few months ago my 7 year old daughter came home from school and told us that her art teacher told her "My daughter has a Russian turtle that I think your mother might like!".

We did some research and learned that what she had was a Russian tortoise that was living in suboptimal conditions and had some damage to her back legs from an improper diet when she was a baby. She can use her back legs but not well and they are not properly developed. After more research and a dicey first 2 weeks Tootsie is doing great. She now knows that Paul is often the person that feeds her and she will walk over to him whenever he goes to see her! She is very responsive and a very pleasant pet!

Without further ado, here's Tootsie...
