my mom got some terrible news.
she raises welsh mountain ponies and she has three fillies from last year still at home. These three girls have become her children since the last of us (my brother) moved out of the house last fall.
one of these fillies has slowly been losing weight and eating tons! plus the other two fillies have grown so much more than her. So finally my mom got the vet out to look at her and do test and it turns out this poor filly has congestive heart failure! or, a hole in her heart.
my mom herself is heartbroken. The vet said she would live if she was given the best care, have no foals, couldn't be ridden, basically become someones pet.
my mom knows she can't keep her so she is trying to find the best home for her, or else she will have to be put down. the vet said she'd look herself if she knows anyone.
my mom is so worried she doesn't know what to do.
