Been a bit since I posted, but I woke up this morning to find that our mouse finally had her babies. She looked as if she swallowed a tennis ball she was so big! This is her first litter, and she produced 11 healthy babies, and 1 itty bitty runt. She promptly killed the runt. I can only assume that she knew that there was a problem with that little one. She didn't eat it, only killed it. She's being a really good mommy this time, nursing them regularly keeping them out of danger. I've even noticed that when she's eating the male will keep them warm. Is this normal???
I will get pictures in a couple of days when mom is not being so protective and when things have calmed down. I can't wait to see what colors/patterns these two have produced.
