For those of you that have been around for a while you may remember the story of Jimmy The Foot. He's an '05 MBK that got out of his enclosure last year and into a Hampster cage. He terrorized the colony until I found him in the hide, systematically killing off breeder Hampsters.
Well he did it again. I upgraded him into a Sweater Box this year and he was doing fine. However some of my Sterilite boxes have flimsy enough lids that if a snake is storng enough he/she can bend the top in the middle and sqeeze out. So I take extra precautions with those and clip them. This beast popped the clip and was gone. I bee-lined it for my daughters room (where mice, hammies and guinea pigs are raised) and sure enough there he was. Helping himself.
He was in the middle of downing a hampster so before you think I'm leaving the others defensless to grab a photo, you're wrong. He's in the middle of swallowing an impossibly large meal. Pardon the blurry - I could only really get one photo before he was done.
The beast. Needless to say I downgraded him into an aquarium where I can keep an eye on him.
The two remaining hammies went on to have a litter of 6 the next day - so they weren't too traumatized. I like the "we are not amused' look on their faces in the photo.
