All I wanted to do was change her water dish.
This girl has lungs.
She grabbed me in the worst possible way - with a finger down her throat.
It was a feeding response, I probably have rodent smell from feeding her babies - or lizard smell from the lizard babies - or something. She's an extremely docile snake.
With a finger down the throat, it is very difficult to convince them to release in a feeding response.
I did the usual dunk in water - she wouldn't let go.
I went to my computer, unmounted my flash card, put it in the camera, and took the pics.
Dunked her in water again - but darn, she has lungs. I was worried I was going to drown her, she wasn't letting go.
I looked all over the house for Alcohol - as that's a sure way to get them to let go. Couldn't find any.
I tried Plax - that stuff you put in your mouth before you brush - she didn't care. Tried Scope - that did the trick instantly. Poor thing. She hated it.
She's a bit thin - she tried to double clutch w/o a second mating, resulting in an infertile clutch - and just started eating again after that ordeal - so she's got an apetite.
But damn - I think I'll wear my gloves when I change her water dish. Not for pain (king bites don't hurt) - but because it's a PITA to have a snake on your finger that won't let go, and I'm a bit worried that using scope to get her to release isn't exactly good for her.
