Finally brought home my canaries

I had originally ordered 2.2, but the breeder threw in an extra pair of hens, so I brought home 6. LOL, sounds just like the corn world. These guys are American Singer canaries, an American creation blending Border canary and German rollers to gain a song bird with tremendous presence, a showy attitude, and great freedom of song (sings freely and often, with great variety in the song). This particular breed of canary is bred purely for their song, with no concern to be given to coloration. However, I'm liking the looks of them so far. (Too bad my camera turns the greening hues of the darker birds brown, but ah well.)

The boys sang the whole way home and clear up until "lights out".

I snapped a couple quick candid shots and then left them be. So here they are, the feathered additions:

"Maestro" - Green Foul

"Jack" - Blue (50% variegated white ground)

"Peeps" - Clear yellow

"Juliette" - 25% Variegated yellow

"Sonata" - 50% Variegated yellow

and "Raven" - 75% Variegated yellow
