Way off the snake topic: Decks and hottubs

I'll start off with my question:

Does anyone here have a hot tub/spa? If so, what kind, and do you have any tips for a new hot tub owner?

This year our big expense is the building of our deck. I'll let the pics say it:

Hopefully we'll get a fair amount of work done this weekend. I'd like to see it done by the end of the month so we can get the hottub up and running.

The top level, see the light on the side of the house.... when we built our house 5yrs ago, we planned for this deck. Basically all we have to do is cut a hole in the wall and stick a door in.

The hot tub is going to take up most of the second storey and is only accessible via through the house (our bedroom actually). There will be no stairs or anything like that.

Yes, we are doing everything ourselves That's the joy of my hubby's side of the family... filled with Millwrights, Industrial Electricians... aside from bricklaying, there's nothing we can't do.

We've done everything the "right" way.... building permits, inspections, etc. Pretty much safe to say that the house would fall down before the deck will LOL.

We went today and purchased our hot tub... for the curious it is the LX 11000 from Gulf Coast. We got a really good deal on it. Neither of us know anything bout the chemicals, etc. in regards to it.... so if anyone here has any advice, please do speak up

Any comments/questions are welcomed.

I'll post more pics as we progress.

I'm not looking forward to getting the hottub up there LOL...it can't go through the house, so it has to be lifted up from outside. (it weighs just over 1000lbs empty)

So yah, that's what my weekends are spent doing, and I'm really looking forward to using the hot tub. I have a back injury, as well as both hands/wrists/elbows.... my dr and massage therepist think the tub will help me dramatically. I'm hoping so.

(sorry bout the large pics, I resized them within photobucket to messageboard size and they still are bigger than I thought)
