There might not be prizes available for a contest. We had them for like 5-6 months straight one time but then took a break as there was nothing to give to the winner(s). I think until that aspect is corrected, it may only happen every 2-3 months.

Maybe Caroline will be able to shed some light on it if there is any difference from the above reasonings. Would be nice to have though.

Halloween is a GREAT theme.

Unfortunately I can't help out with prizes until next year... which when I do, will be too bad for me... as I LOVE to participate in the Contests! LOL! As next year I plan to either do a $$$ amount coupon to CSI: Corns OR do 1.1 Okeetee's (we'll see)

Given that:
  1. My two breedings were relatively late in the year, and
  2. This first year was a "test run" before I delve into producing snakes for sale, and
  3. I'll probably have more than I'll be selling/trading with those I've already planned, and
  4. I'm bound to return the karma that has been given to me in this hobby -
I'd be more than happy to contribute a hatchling or two for this, or any following, contest.

Caroline, PM me so we can work out the details.

Dale

While the animal prize contests are cool - it does make for issues with our Canadian friends (if the animals are in US anyway) - what might be cool with live animal prizes is to let the winner have the option of auctioning the animal(s) here on the source and maybe getting something like a Bean Farm gift certificate of the winning auction value?

That way pesky little things like import/export laws don't prevent photographers from collecting their due prize. It also could be used by people like me who are running out of rack space ... (maybe we could vision to donate a rack? )

This may be the best corn picture I've ever taken (attached) - so the next contest should involve double morph corns in plants

Someone would still beat me though - there's some really nice photographers here, and it is really fun looking at the images.

The first two contests I won were actually gift certificates........so I don't think it HAS to be a living thing in most cases. A rack, incubator, flat screen TV, laptop, set of tires, etc...... I think would all be considered reasonable prizes.
