Awwww! Isn't that just the sweetest little thing! I love my hoggie, they have such great personalities. Congrats on the new little guy.

I have two hoggies, an Eastern and a Tri. Very likely my next snake is going to be a Western. I really, really love them.

LOL...I've got a tank of tree frogs just for that very purpose! Although my little rescue hoggie has finally eaten 3 unscented meals!

Beautiful little hoggie, Paul!

Thanks everyone. I don't know how well this one eats, will find out soon. I have always wanted to keep green tree frogs as I like their chirping, so this may be a good way to get something else that I want. But where to put them?

I have a retired scenting toad who lives with my tortoises! He thinks their water crock is his soaking pool...I feed him like a snake- put him in a feeding container with his crickets, and take him out when he has eaten his fill.

that is so cool. We have a couple of Gulf Coast toads that think our dogs water dish is their soaking dish. I have taken a few in and fed them on occasion. But they stay wild.

This is a pretty active Hoggy forum: http://tinyurl.com/3e3vvm

At least you get to see a lot of pics and read about breeding, etc.

I've kept & still breed western hognose morphs for the past 12 years. It's been my experience that breeder size male tend to go off feed in September. My females will usually quit feeding by mid October.
After brumation they readily begin eating again. I have one male that refuses to eat until he has begun breeding. He is the only one out of 5 males that is like that. He has always been that way & I doubt that he'll ever change.
Best of luck with yours! They are very entertaining!
