Paul,

Thats a neat set up you have. It looks like you run the automatic sippers. Do you ever have any problems w/ them cloging. Has the system saved you alot of time, on watering. I have a set of four that I have ordered. They will be coming in soon.

Stephen

Stephen,

The only problems that I had were when I first set up the system and had the valves inside the screen. this allowed the rats a small bit of access to the tubing, and they in turn decided to chew up the tubing. This resulted in water filling tubs and some very wet rats. I ended up loosing 2 colonies until I figured out exactly what was happening. Now, I just pass the front part of the valves through the screen and they are still able to drink from it.

I have yet to have a clog or a stuck valve because of bedding. *knock on wood*. I have had to clean out the screen in the tank valve a number of times though.

This has saved me on a number of occasions as I don't check my rodents on a daily basis. usually twice a week only to check for babies and levels of food. Until I started using the auto watering system, I had to check on them 2 to 3 times a day to make sure that water bottles were filled, and with working 2 jobs and having 2 kids, that got a little hard.

Thanks for the comments.
