ASFR babies

Well, I got a call from the wife this morning on my way to work letting me know that one of my ASFR females had given birth to 11 to 13 babies sometime through the night. I was just sent some pictures and I thought that you all would like to see the babies. Enjoy.

, was the bowl supposed to be for water lol? Are these what we call multi mammate mice? Or do they just look very similar?

The bowl was where I had some of their food. I guess they decided that it would make keeping the babies together easier.

These are African Soft Furred Rats. I have never heard of multi mammate mice.

Are they born with fuzz? I saw some at the last reptile show, but I didn't get any. I think maybe I might thin down my mouse collection in favor of some of those. Do they get as large as normal rats?

They are born pink with a bit of soft fur on them. So far they have no smell, at least nothing like normal rats and mice. The momma that is in the picture is about the size they get, maybe a bit bigger. From what I have been told, they stay about the size of a small rat.
