Checkered pattern?

Ok... I've seen stripes, motleys, zig zag, aztec, and aberrant patterns. But I've never seen a checkered pattern before. It's only a couple inches of it's body but I thought it was pretty cool. Even the sides are a little odd. They seem a little blended. I'll be holding on to this little one for a while to see how he turns out.
