Here is the pair I used for the Neon pink x Coral snow cross I made last year, Prince (neon male) and Blossom (coral female). One of the sons, Sonnet, is the snake in the center. He seems to have gotten the pink in the ground from the Neon and the pink in the saddles from the Coral. Where he got all that extra pink from I can’t say for certain, but clearly something special came together in this pairing.
Here's a closer view of the scale on these three:
Sonnet is plenty big enough to breed back to his dam and he's demonstrated that he knows what to do, but so far I haven't been able to get a successful pairing between them. Still trying, it's early yet. [update 3/25/08--pairing successful! Yaay!] Here's a portrait of Sonnet by himself:
I only produced three males from this pairing last year and kept all three. They each have different looks to them. Here is Chanson, which is "song" in French:
The third male I named "Printemps", which means "springtime", because he has so much green:
Coral snow females are often less colorful than the males but some of my keeper females are breaking all the rules. First up is "Petunia":
And here is "Roses":
This last one is not a neon x coral, she's a pure SMR coral from Don's '07 crop of future breeders that I am raising up for him. But I fell in love with her and Don's going to let me keep her. THANK YOU, DON!
The double dose in Sonnet is stunning. What a great looking snake. I hope he retains all that color and it deepens as he ages. I'll have to keep looking for updates but I'll have to bring my sunglasses!
