After weeks of putting snakes together with zero results, these two got right down to business this morning. He (Strawberry) is an '05 amel blood whose ground color continues to get redder with every shed. She (Lantana) is a nearly patternless '05 sunglow stripe, deep orange red color with only a little yellow near her neck.
I've been planning this pairing since before I started my collection, and I got these two snakes from Don Soderberg specifically to start this project. Needless to say, I'm ecstatic!
Thanks, everyone for your support. This is all SO fun!
Joanna Woohoo! If you think no mating was hard on your nerves...Waiting for her to lay her eggs and then for the eggs to hatch is agonizing!
DaemoNox And then for the babies to eat, and then to sell them; the waiting fun has just begun!
Yes, now the waiting really starts. It's like Christmas, I think...looking forward to it but what a LOT of work, when you're the Mom who has to make it all happen. I need to get nest boxes made, set up the incubator, put holes in hatchling boxes, build a hatchling rack, etc. etc. She can take her time, as far as I'm concerned!
