The Grand Finale to my first breeding season!
This little girl was the very last hatchling out of the egg this season, and the only one like her that I got. I have way too many keepers, but I sure don't see how I could part with her. My daughter has named her Omega.
obviously an ultramel was used was the other a reverse okeetee?
The father is an ultramel with lots of yellow and mom is a high white reverse okeetee. It will be interesting to see how much yellow this one develops, and where.
That's an Amelanistic animal?
I think of the ultra gene as a partially defective version of the gene that produces black pigment. Note her borders are gray, not pure black.
You have had a fantastic season by the looks of it!
Thanks! There have been a few dissappointments but the happy surprises more than made up for them.

Now, granted I don't know much about ultramels, having never hatched one out myself.... but are you SURE the ultramel is the father of that animal? It just seems to have so much black on it... and I'd always been under the impression that ultra (on its own) acted as a hypo, and that ultramel was very-nearly-amelanistic and showed very little black/grey at all.
Either way it's an absolutely beautiful snake and I can see why it's a keeper!

The mother was a first year breeder that I was having a hard time getting bred to a snow. Finally I tried two different males, the ultramel and a fire because they are both agressive breeders. Clearly, this girl was not fathered by the snow or the fire. BTW the het blood high-whites came out quite pretty.
Although it is hard to see, the black is actually dark gray. I hope it stays dark, I really like the look.
