Blaze head pattern - missing parietal scale

This Fire (amelanistic bloodred) cornsnake is missing her parietal scale, the one between her eyes. The effect is rather like that of a blaze on a horse's face. It is very likely genetic, and I will try to recover this feature in future generations. I plan to post the results of these efforts in this thread. If you have or know of other snakes (doesn't have to be a cornsnake) with a similar feature, please do contribute photos and anecdotes here, too.

Nanci informed me of this thread! I have a female amel that is missing the same scale. I bred her and she had five babies, one of which was amel and also missing the same scale. Here are the picks of mother and daughter. (Or son).

Here is the baby. The baby was also born with only one eye.

It is sort of hard to see. I can't wait to hear about your results!!!

The white spot on the heat of the bloodred is verry cool.
