2008 pairings: Bloodred (Wild Cherry) x Fire

Wild Cherry is het for fire, and Rubicon is a very red Fire (amel blood). I am hoping for a safe egg delivery this year since I almost lost my Wild Cherry to egg binding last year. This pairing should produce some beautiful bloodreds and fires.

That might be the darkest bloodred I have ever seen.........almost like a "wine" or "burgandy" coloration. Great project Marsha and good luck with it. Keep us updated on this one for sure.

There's that Wild Cherry updated pic I was looking for!!! She is truly a stunning creature!
I'll start saving my pennies now! Good luck with the pairing, I hope she delivers smoothly!

Not to get off topic here but does anyone have any pic's of a baby fire & or a ultra bloodred. I've never seen a hatchling or yearling.

Wild Cherry had her pre-lay shed last night and I can feel at least a dozen lumps. Won't be long now!

Here are hatchling, yearling and adult photos of another of my fires, Strawberry.

Hatchling fires and bloodreds change a lot as they mature. It can take as much as three years before they get their adult coloration. Here's a link to a progression thread on one of the best fires in existance, owned and bred by Don Soderberg: Habenero, 2006 amel blood

Ultra is currently being bred into fires, the first of them look like they will be quite richly colored.

Well, the Wild Cherry babies are out and most of them are bloodreds, and very, very dark in color. Here's the first one out. They have mostly all shed now but though I've taken dozens of photos, none of them have turned out. I'll keep trying

OMG!!!! Your threads are going to be off limits for me!!! Now, I really have the fever!!! Those blooreds are really gorgeous. Is the dark one the red Fire, amel blood and the male? If so, he is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! I love him! That's my favorite!

Congratulations Marsha!
