It was $39. I'll never have to buy another one. I've weighed down to 2 grams on it (pinks). I recently figured out how to use the "tare" function, where you place a container on it and zero it out, so you don't have to convince a squiggling adult snake to curl up on it.

I have the one in the left corner. It goes up to 7000 gram, which is great for BPs. I just did a weighing ceremony for most of my '05 juvies yesterday, in fact. The big 'uns go in a snake bag then into the plastic container.
Now I don't feel so bad about $39! The scale I mentioned only goes to five pounds. The only things I have that will ever go over are the Desert Tortoises.

I've had it for almost a year and it's been great. It's got pretty much all the same features as the one Nanci mentioned, it's small, and perfect size for the containers I use for weighing my snakes and their food items.

I don't have any particular recommendations. I just got mine at Linens N Things and I'm happy with it. One helpful thing I read when I was looking into scales, though, is that a nickel weighs 5g if you want to test your scale. Apparently, some of them can get pretty off at the higher ends of their weight capacities.
