After lots of searching and review reading, I think this is the camera for me. I'd love to see some photos that "real people" have taken with it though. I realize it's a fairly new camera, so maybe could some of the more experienced photographers read the review and let me know what ya think? I don't need lots of options to mess with, I just want to be able to take focused pictures.

Thanks Lore. I'd love to take pics that're that crisp!
You're kids are looking awesome, as always.
then I'd recommend either finding a Powershot S2 IS on e-bay or ponying up for a shiney new S3 IS and making Lore jealous
& thank you
My camera makes it REAL easy to take macro shots of my snakes, I'll say that much. It's a wonderful camera... totally worth the $150 I paid the guy who had a trunk full of em' in chicago a long time ago... lol... I just bought... I didnt ask... LOL!
The S3 IS is way out of my price range, and I'm scared of E-Bay. I just know I'd get taken.
I need to stay below $200 - including memory card and good rechargeable batteries (I'm tired of buying economy sized packs of AA's). I know I'm really limited that price range.
The A550 seems to be good for the price - $151.54 at walmart.
Just thought of another place to check...

I'm a fan of my Canon, I read the Review. It certianly seems like a great camera.
With higher $$$ purchases on e-bay, I tend to do local purchases and shoot them a message before I bid and ask if they allow local pickup with cash given upon pickup. More often than not they do. That way you save shipping charges & you are assured that you get the product. & I never bid on anything w/o them having a high rating etc. Also when bidding, I always bid at the last minute of the auction ending, that way I don't have to get in a bidding war.

(just some helpful hints from an e-bay veteran)
I agree.....BUT a fair warning to new users........put in the most you want to spend (your max bid) and leave it alone. Without experience and knowledge of what can (and does) happen, your emotions will get involved more than they need to and you will end up winning something for more than it is worth. Think what you feel like spending (shipping included) and put that as your max amount. E-bay will bid for you until your "allowable" limit is up and then you are out of it. If you do this 5 or 10 times and keep losing you will realize that maybe what you want is not exactly at the price you are willing to spend. Once you get a bit more knowledgeable with the way things work, you can search and find deals that have a lot less traffic than others (mis-spelled words, listed in wrong categories, etc.)..........that is where the sweet pickups come from.
That is the best advice I can give and I have been doing it off/on for well over 8 years or more.

I almost always snipe things using a snipe service, that way I don't even look at the auction again until it's over and am not tempted to increase my bid. M-B, someone over on CS.com posted a link to a website that has like clearance-type prices on cameras. I'll see if I can find it for you.
