I saw this stuff called Hatch Rite online and I was wondering if anyone has tried it. It sounds easy enough, but I wasn't sure if it was a silly use of money or not. I don't want to do something that will harm any eggs I get, but if this makes for a little less worry then I don't mind spending a few extra dollars. If you go to hatchrite.com you can check it out. Let me know what y'all think.
Please do! I've ordered from The Bean Farm before, and had really great service. It seems like an interesting product, that might help those of us just starting out.
I have always used Perlite, bought at the local garden center, and been happy with it. I like the idea of this product, I just need some feedback from someone that's used it.

I normally use moss and/or vermic. I have had good results with both, but have also lost eggs to too high of a humidity. I too would like info on this, and depending on cost might get enough of it from the bean farm just to try on one clutch. If I do this, I will post my findings here.
Well I opened the bag and took a picture of the contents.
Sure enough, its perlite...but with a twist. It looks like it has polymer "water crystals" in with it as well. It should be interesting to see if it works better for me than perlite has in the past.
And a close-up of a cluster of the squishy water crystals:
I was looking at the stuff at a booth at the Tinley show last fall. I was pretty interested so the rep gave me a free bag to try out. Talking to the rep, it apparently has polymers that regulate the moisture to the optimum level for the eggs. It is supposed to be easier to maintain the proper moisture level as well. The polymers don't give up ater as easily. Personally, I use the sealed container method, so it doesn't really matter, but it would be nice not to have to try and adjust the moisture level before placing it in conatiners with eggs. Hey, it was a freebee, what can I say?

hmmm, to me this is one of those things that if it ain't broke don't fix it. i use a 50/50 mix of perlite and vermiculite straight out of the bag. we do not add water since it is so humid down in southeast Louisiana it absorbs moisture on the shelf at the garden store we get it from. we just check it once a week and add water if needed(usually never). we had 100% hatch rate on the first of this year with our bearded dragons.
now if they come out with something to give them that gives better survival rates id be all for it.
This stuff is prefect! I know several breeders who use it, and they give it 110% credit!
Deffanatly perfect for begginers! They give it out at major shows, like DAYTONA and NARBC shows! Good luck.
