Hello everyone! Thought I'd share my events of the day!
Woke up in the wee early hours to a house cooling down. Thought it was odd, turned up the thermostat and called it good. Got up this morning and the house was even colder! Discovered that the furnace wasn't working properly. Turns out a pump was malfunctioning. Sure will be expensive once the heating guys get it all fixed. They will be back in the morning. Glad they were able to come and temporary fix on a Christmas day, but we have to have heat here in North Dakota!
But anyhow, the rest of our day turned out rather well. My wife's folks came over to share in the opening of presents. Here's some shots from the other day when father in law was over and had funny antlers to share.
Here's Rebecca, hard at it opening gifts. Was funny, she'd open a gift, then want to go play with her toy. She didn't have the concept of there being MORE presents to open. She was perfectly content to run off and play with the one she just opened. LOL! Cute!
I don't even know how long ago it was...I guess I'd have to search through my credit card records. But there was a day, back in the summer time when wife had gotten into looking at jewelry online. She'd had stated how she'd love to find something with her birthstone, Aquamarine. Well like a good husband I acted totally cool to it all, like I was ignoring her but in fact I DID take notice and mentally told myself where to find it later. Well she left the room to let me on the puter and I immediatly ordered it. And days later in came in the mail, thankfully, when she wasn't home.
It's a pair of earings and a matching necklace with Aquamarine and Tanzanite stones. Very pretty I guess. She had NO idea I ever got these and had long since forgotten them when she opened her gift today. For several months I'd been teasing her that I already got her the final season of Star Trek Next Generation. So last night when it was time to wrap up the gifts, I pulled out that Star Trek, not so well hidden away, she knew where it was. Took off the sealed wrap. Pulled out the DVDs inside. Stuck the little jewelry cases inside the Star Trek box. And then wrapped it.
But she was onto my ploy there, she knew, well, she stated there had better be something sparkly inside that box! As she was going on about the money she'd spent on my gift. Which turned out to be Dr. Maders HUGE volume on Reptile surgery and medicine. So she opened the little jewelry boxes and was quite happy with what she found. One up for the Russ man! LOL!
Mother in law got us a webcam. I've never spent the money on one as I don't think the pic is all that great. But it was fun having it set up. And let Chuck watch us Nodaks play cards and get a glimpse of the inside of our home life. It'll be loads of fun I'm sure. Now if I can just remember not to pick my nose when it's on.
Looks like you had a wonderful Christmas! I love watching kids open presents...always brings a smile to my face. Their youthful innocence is just heartwarming.
And big KUDOS to you for getting the wife the necklace and earrings she wanted!!
