My nine year old female laid a small clutch this year, and they are hatching. So far all normals and a snow still in the egg. Was pretty funny the other day when they started, I didn't notice right away a head poking just out of the vermiculite from it's buried egg. I thought it was funny. Anyhow, these guys sure have lighter heads than their bodies. If you only saw the tail end first you'd think anery right away till you took a second closer look and found the red showing through. Very dark.
Fed the Charleston blood babies today, and so far, all have eaten. Good sign for some of those kids were pretty small. But likely the Charleston trait of being good feeders was passed on. Phew, don't need the difficult bloodred feeding traits!
Those hybrids are coming fast and funny, they all look basically the same. So didn't bother with more pics. Will wait till they've all shed.
Here are some pics of Monster's fresh out of the egg. Enjoy!
thanks for the compliments. Mom isn't getting any younger and I should really keep some of her kids back. We'll see... But anyhow, here are some more pictures of babies that have come out. I might keep back one of those normals and do a progression thread on it. Even ol Monster wasn't so pretty as a baby. I'm real curious to see how it ends up. Got an anery and I saw another anery nose in the box... And that pink snow...pretty little thing! Guess I know who the father was... My Candy Cane male who only bred her ONCE, where ol Charlie bred her a couple times....strange! And oh, oh, there be an amel thinking of joining the great big world...

Beautiful youngsters there Russell
I am curious, in what order did you mate the males to Mum?

i.e. Candy 1st to breed her or last?

He was the last at what I considered the end of her window for breeding. And most of those normals look exactly like the normals she's had in the past with this particular male. Always seem to have that white background as hatchlings. Note though, one of those babies is dark, and I figure that's Charlie's influence there. Otherwise likely Charlie isn't het for anything so the snow and aneries are also the Candy Cane's.
