breeding season begins...

Today I decided to bring snakes out of hibernation. But only a small group today. More tommorow. And perhaps the rest of the corns will be out tommorow. Then sometime this weekend the Pines will follow suit. I was worried as this house is old and drafty, but we aren't facing any really cold temps. Well, ok, to some of you four below zero is cold. But when we normally have several weeks straight of this kind of subzero weather, I felt I couldn't keep the cages properly heated. Well, that was also when I was letting the heat off at night. Thinking, this is normal and ok right?

Well I'm now leaving it on all the time, and still getting a gradient in their cages so they should be fine. This way they don't go too far cool at night. Will just have to monitor things closer.

First up are 1.1 Charlestons 2.2 Okeetees (Yes, ol Edmund is awake...) and 1.2 Hypo Okeetee and Okeetee het hypo Okeetee.

Tommorow I should be able to get the Ambers, Ghosts, Crimsons, Reverse Okeetees, Candy Canes, and old Monster, now nine years old this year.

Everyone is looking fine so far. Am hoping for a great season and hope to see new things this year!

Not expecting anything new I guess, but you never know, maybe this year I might hatch out a melanistic corn, or a leucistic corn.... who knows! Or better yet a solid neon pink one....

Wow, did you hear that sound? I think that was Chuck aka Serpwidgets using the bathroom fast...

guess not everyone likes them pink things...LOL!

So that's my big news of the day. They are warmin up! And figure next month I'll get some lovin going on not exactly related to Valentines day...he he he...

well, the rest of the adult corns are now out of hibernation. Perhaps the rest of the snakes will follow tommorow if all goes well. It's nice having the big snakes back up here! I miss my Pines too!
