I decided to pursue finding some animals that were pure Stillwater line hypo bulls. So I searched around and found someone who was about to hatch some that his adults, now nine years old, came directly from John Ginter from the original collected pair. So! I couldn't do any better! As the original pair, the male is dead now and the female retired. So now I'll raise up both pairs and see if there really is a difference to this hypo gene once it's been outcrossed. My feeling? That looking at various pics of babies in clutches shows there is wide variation. Thus I'm not so positive the hype about keeping the line pure to the original pair of animals is really that important. But regardless, I do have a pair from both sides of the coin now.
