Thanks to the information shared among this community, I shipped my test package out with all the right paperwork. Three days later, I received an e-mail from the Test Center with a copy of my "passed" report and the contact info for my rep.
Since my rep was "cc'd" on the email, he got in touch with me as soon as he received the info (it took a couple of days as he was on vacation). I sent back my signed waiver today. I'm hoping to hear from him soon with a copy of the waiver endorsed by the Legal Department.
If it hadn't been for this community sharing, this process would have taken much longer, I'm sure. As it is, I went in with good information; and I got good service and a good sales rep as a result.
So, consider this a virtual pat-on-the-back for unselfishness and community spirit!
I couldn't agree more! Once I got in touch with my rep I actually explained the process to him because I had read about it several different places. He then ran with it and made it happen. I think being informed going into the process does make a difference.
I contacted FedEx today, wanting to become certified. The lady on the phone said "We do NOT ship live animals of any kind, period!" I was very upset! I told her, "No, you DO ship live reptiles. I have gotten them in the mail. Just go ask someone about how to get me certified." Well, after much argument and a lot of hold time, she finally came back and said "I'll have to have you call back on Monday to talk with your rep." Geeze, such friendly helpful people
Anyways, doesn't seem that hard to get certified. Just got to deal with a bunch of people that don't really care and would rather fight with you about it than ask someone else. It will be worth it in the end, right?
My recommendation to you is to get your test package together and send it off without waiting for your rep. Vinny has posted all the info and docs you need. The test center will then email you your results and cc your rep who should then get in contact with you to get the correct paper work for you. I did this all in less than 3 weeks and only spoke with my rep after I had the test package results. If you know the process you can walk them through it.
Thanks! I just finished printing the packaging application and reading the packaging guidelines... So I will just have to do that. I'll let you know what happens.
just send it in standard or second day. They don't need to get it next day.
One good thing about getting in touch with your Rep is that they will give you an account to use to send it for free second day. I got that, but haven't gotten my package in yet. Been way too busy to get things done lately. But will be doing this shortly.
Location: A desolate place filled with desperate people.

Thanks for the info Vinny! Tim and I have been kicking our heels on getting our cert done, but we need to hurry up as we'll have need of it later this year!
Well, just got my waivers in the mail yesterday. Have everything signed and ready to send back out, but I have a question. One of the Bullets reads something linke: "Under this agreement you are only allowed to ship to businesses." I am just wondering if everyone has this bullet on their waiver? It doesn't make much sense to me to put that in there. But, when I ship out, does that mean that I just don't check the "this is a residential address" button?
They all have that stipulation. I think the way people are getting around shipping to people's homes is by rationalizing that it is a home business! I would not check the residential box. It is also the reason a lot of people are trying to get people to pick up at the nearest Fed Ex hub.
