After months of phone tag with FedEx we finally got in touch with our account rep to get the ball rolling. Once our account rep contacted us it was a fairly easy process... getting that first contact was the hard part. Once you get in touch with your account rep this is what you'll have to do:
Send in a test package - FedEx provided a pdf about how to pack the box
Sign legal paper work basically saying FedEx isn't responsible for any type of damages resulting from your shipments.
Wait for legal to review your package results and legal paper (1 to 3 weeks they said)
I attached the test package form and the how to pdf they provided us.
It can be a pain in the arse to get started, but it's so worth it when you're ready to ship! Thanks for posting the info!
I read about other people having a hard time getting in touch with their rep but I thought to myself "how hard could it be?". I have to say, my rep has been great and he was very surprised when I told him how many times I called and left messages with the FedEx operators. I'm glad it's done now.
My agent was great, too. He got my account by default, he only handles big accounts ($50,000 + a year) and somehow he got me. He really took care of me and got everything done quickly. Congrats again! We may be doing business someday!

Yeah, I had a bear of a time myself just trying to find a rep that knew what I was talking about and could help me. I spent months calling and never getting any help.
I finally just said screw it, made up my test box, filled out the forms, affixed a typed note saying I've been having issues trying to find a rep and if they could find one for me I'd appreciate it, sent my box to the test center and two days later I get a call from my rep who is great.
Thanks to the information shared among this community, I shipped my test package out with all the right paperwork. Three days later, I received an e-mail from the Test Center with a copy of my "passed" report and the contact info for my rep.
Since my rep was "cc'd" on the email, he got in touch with me as soon as he received the info (it took a couple of days as he was on vacation). I sent back my signed waiver today. I'm hoping to hear from him soon with a copy of the waiver endorsed by the Legal Department.
If it hadn't been for this community sharing, this process would have taken much longer, I'm sure. As it is, I went in with good information; and I got good service and a good sales rep as a result.
So, consider this a virtual pat-on-the-back for unselfishness and community spirit!
