Momma Hen & Chicks

Here is our Dark Cornish hen who adopted the chicks we hatched out in the incubator. She's doing a great job for a first time mom, and she sure puts a wallop on you when you get too close, my right arm is all buggered up.

Aw, hens are the best mamas! I never had trouble with mine adopting mail order chicks- they'd even steal from each other! That's a pretty hen.

(You don't need very much room for banty chickens!)

Great picture! I love the sharpness the blue flowers give the whole picture. This reminds me of when my brother was born. I was dropped off at my day care for the day and someone had brought a bunch of little chicks. I sat outside in the grass and watched them run around.
