Stop bursting my bubbles!

I've never hatched out a Butter Mot before, or even a plain ole Butter, so I had to go to the Morph Gallery last night just to look at Butter Mot hatchling pics to verify. The one hatchling pic by Vanderkm looks really similar to me.

Well they could be Amels I suppose, but they seem awfully golden-orange for any Amel I've seen, almost Creamsicle looking.

The Amels this male has produced in the past weren't anything like this, some had a yellow wash to them as they aged, and some didn't. Maybe with the mother of these babies being his daughter could have something to do with this look if they are Amels.

But to clarify, the pictures make them look far more red-orange than what I'm seeing in real life.

Well the first four made it out entirely, so here's a picture. This is about as close to the color as they are in real life as I can get. So you can see my confusion as to the Butter or the Amel.

The little striper one had a knot in its umbilicus as I noticed its back end getting dark and darker, so I snipped it and it came the rest of the way out of the shell. I've noticed most of these had only pipped the smallest hole possible for their bodies, and when they come out and rest they look pinched. Not sure why that is.

I vote for amel motleys het caramel... they are more orange than regular amels, but having hatched and owned butter mots, those ones are not it. *duckspleasedon'tkillme*

Well they finally all shed and the one little striper in the bottom right doesn't look anything like the other Amels. And my camera is still making them look far more bright orange than I'm seeing in real life.

Full resolution picture can be seen here.

Ya, they look like Amel Mots to me as well but my Butter experience is limited. That pattern is super wicked though!

This clutch finally fully shed and I got them all sexed out, 6.4. Not the best, but better than 9.1!

I also took a comparison picture between an Amel het Diffused Motley and one of the "Amel/Butter/Unknowns" to show the color differences. While it most certainly is an Amel, the color difference between typical Amels and even the other Amels in the clutch is definitely odd. They still look like Creamsicles to me.

yeah...

I have to agree that they look like amels as well, but there is definately an orangey look to them that is reminiscent of creamsicles. I am betting het caramel as well. Some of the patterns on those are killer! congrats Misty!
