Jackpot!

Finally after much impatient waiting and anticipation, Maize and Orion's clutch started to hatch at 2:30am over a week past due.

Maize - Motley het Amel (poss het Caramel) X Orion - Amel Motley het Caramel

And the first one out? What appears to my eyes to be a Butter Motley!

About two hours prior to pipping I sprayed the heck out of the eggs and incubating medium as a hunch, it worked for my last clutch that was past due as well. Both clutches had several eggs severely dimpled in for over a week with no pipping taking place. I'm not sure if misting them gives them some sort of environmental cue, or if its all coincidence.

So far I've got two Butter Mots and 2 Normal Mots pipped.

The other Butter Mot is just out of view to the right. This one is the second one to pip.

So I guess you can lose the "(poss het Caramel)" for Maize.

Nice to see Murphy's being good to ya! Congrats!

Hi Misty... Congrats on the absolutely darling pippies! Love the color. Although it isn't as "red" as what I've hatched, I think your pippy is an Amel Mot (hides in corner). Butter Motley hatchlings usually have more of a golden brown and yellow look to them. I know some of my Amel Mots are het Caramel and have a very different look to them. Maybe that's the case here? <shrugs> I hope you'll keep us posted on the clutch and share some post-shed pictures.

Sort of a "This is your wake up misting. The next thing is a cold bucket of water. So, get outta' them shells!!"

Congrats! Tell 'em to hurry. We need a group portrait.
