New Tarantulas!

Well I bought a couple of Grammostola rosea slings and the guy sent me a couple freebies with them. So now I have gone from 0 Rose Hairs to 4.

I really hadn't been interested in G. roseas much, most of the ones I've seen are very ho-hum in appearance, nothing really spectacularly "rosey" about them. But the guy I bought these from showed me the father and he is bee-utiful, and he said the female was equally as gorgeous. So hopefully these little guys will turn out to be gems like their parents.

I only took a picture of one of them, because they all look the same to me. They're about 3/4" big at the moment, and pretty cute for spiders.

So here's to me and the next few years I'll be growing these things up to adulthood!

Very neat looking little tarantula. I always love seeing the new additions to your collection.

Well, for a spider I'd say it's pretty cute. Were the freebies more like that one?

Yeah, I ordered 2 and ended up getting 2 free. Not bad for $10. =P

No, not bad at all... Can't say that's what I'd do with $10, but we are all different.. How long does it take them to grow up to adults?

Depending on gender, temperature, and feeding frequency, 2-5 years.

To prevent large scale inbreeding between sac-mates, males mature faster than their female siblings.
