R.I.P. - Diablo

I guess there are just times that no matter what you do, Mother Nature takes what she wishes...when she wishes.

This evening while feeding snakes, I found Diablo dead in his tub. He's a 2001 Stripe.

Those who were in chat a few days ago heard me talk about him being really bad off after coming out of brumation in December. He was visibly emaciated, had a bad shed shortly after coming out, and wasn't all that interested in eating.

I did manage to get a rat fuzzy in him with the skin slit all over and the butt dusted in probiotics, but I found that regurged a few days afterwards.

Due to the heat in the closet and the fact I haven't checked on anyone in there in 10+ days, his body was pretty unfit for a valuable necropsy. So I just buried him back in the woods where the wild snakes roam.

Rest in peace, Diablo.

Sorry for your loss Misty, it's always hard to lose an animal...I know mine became a part of the family just as a dog or cat would.

I, too, found my male stripe dead not long ago, for no apparent reason. I'm so sorry you lost Diablo. He was beautiful.

Misty, I'm so sorry to hear about your loss of Diablo. Sounds like you found a beautiful place to bury him. May he rest in peace, and my thoughts are with you.
