Tomorrow I am getting what I have dreamt about since the first time I laid eyes on it. Even my husband, who likes snakes but doesn't get into them like moi, thinks that pewters are the finest morph he's seen. I've never been in the right place at the right time with the money to get one. Now I'm getting two!

When I looked at SMR's site a few weeks ago, just to tease myself because almost everything is sold out for '06 babies, I saw that lo and behold, the pewters were showing as still available. I showed them again to my faithful sidekick (husband) and sighed, "That is the most beautiful thing in the world." He, being the good man that he is, asks how much. Another sigh, "$125 apiece." He snorts and says, "I thought you were looking at the $1500 snakes. This one's cheap, you should get it." After I picked myself up off the floor, I hemmed and hawed about spending that much right now with home improvement plans looming. But he did say I could....Two weeks later I call Don S. and yep, there are two left. The last two from his picture perfect clean-sided male and a female with only faint pattern. And, wouldn't you know, they're both females. Darn my luck.

I figured if one was a bargain (in my husband's mind) at $125, then two had to be a steal. Yeppers, the two arrive tomorrow. I will post pics when they arrive, before they chill out and acclimatize. Now to dream up names....

This little girl was first out of the deli cup. She has squeaky clean sides, an aztec thing going on behind her head and some of the funkiest saddles (which I know will mostly go away as she matures) I've ever seen.

Now they have names. Pewter #1 is Silverbullet and Pewter #2 is Platinum. Woo-hoo!
