This is my rootbeer/creamsicle clutch and so far one rootbeer head is poking out. Unless dad (cream) is het for anery, this will be all normals/amels. There are 23 chances to see if there's any secrets in dad's closet.
Looks liks a cream is pipping now, too! I can't wait to see what I'll find in the moring! My first hybrids!!

Dionythicus, what were the parents? Was the mom a ghost? Do you have pics of them as well? Can't wait to see what the babies are gonna look like. My fingers are crossed for you.
Mom is a classic het snow and dad is the cream, hets unk. I think of him as a candy cream because his background is almost white, it just doesn't show up well in the pic. I only got one baby from him last year after the female died egg bound, but that is a superb cream. Here's the happy couple "doin' it" and a pic of last year's baby, Achtung.

Congrats on the clutch hatching - looking forward to pics of the new little ones. Agree your cream is 'candycream' - very clean background and you can see why emoryi was bred into corns to improve the candycane lines.

This is the rootbeer that hatched this morning. You can really see the emoryi in the saddles. I had to tweak the controls on the pic as it was very dark, like the head shot. I didn't get shots of the cream yet. Another rootbeer is pipping.

Here's a cream pipping. Last night it had its head stuck through the slit and couldn't pull it back into the egg. That happened to one a couple years ago too. They make a tiny slit and get their big head through it, then can't retract. This one was like that for a few hours, its head was all dried out because it couldn't retreat into the egg, until I took some tiny scissors and made a bigger slit. It shot back inside the egg and is taking its time to come out. So far there are more creams the rootbeers (yea!), but there are still about 15 more to pip. I think this is one of my best pippie pics ever!
