So, I have this female het snow that's ready to breed. She wasn't in the plans this year, unless she and either my corn/bull or baird's were willing to breed. She is a girl who knows what she wants. She pursues the males when she is in the mood. Most males I have run from her, including the two to make future hybrids. I've tried, they're terrified of this big girl sliding all over them and twitching up a storm. I figure "oh well, there's always next year", then it hits me. I do have a small blood het ghost male from Tom Thompson that I was hoping to breed to my Christmas girl. What the hey, the normal het snow might be willing to show him how it's done. This male tops the scale at a whopping 105 grams. He looks like an earthworm next to this big girl. The last time I put him in with a female, the Christmas, he ran like someone was chasing with a chainsaw. Not today. My little boy stood his ground and decided it was time to become a man. It took him about five minutes of twitching and wrapping himself around her until bammo! They were lined up and hooked up. She was flagging like a tramp, so it was much easier for a small male to get under her tail. Fingers crossed, I'll have a clutch of normals het blood, 66% het anery and 50% het amel and hypo A and anerys het blood, 50% het amel and hypo A. Of course, I only know she's het for anery and amel, there could be something else lurking in her genes. We'll see.

She's laying!! She's laid 17 eggs, one being a tiny slug and she's still going. She always gives me 20+. There is one tiny egg that looks viable, so we'll see what itty bitty hatchling comes out of that one.
