I'll be trading some LH's for a few satins this w/e so we can both expand our bloodlines. I hope he still has some merles.

2nd pic: Two more females, Diamond and Marigold, in a different colony just starting out

3rd: my silver baby, Mercury! I was hoping this would be a male, no such luck.

4th: Mercury and Gold, sisters, Smokey is their dad.

5th: Magpie, the litter she was in is the first I have gotten with black in it, I was again hoping this one would be male...

6th and 7th: the two long hairs... The satin is Panda and the normal is Wookie. They are siblings to Magpie and Smokey is their father too. Thier mother has just had another litter, I am crossing my fingers for a nice male out of there to hold back!

There is a fair bit of inbreeding going on here... I keep on looking for new stock but nothing in the petstores has caught my eye and the local mouse breeders wont sell to someone who has snakes!
Wow! The first ones look like they have a shiny coat. I like them alot!

They get the name "satin" because their coats are shiny and look like satin fabric. It's even prettier in person.

Yeah, they are so shiny they just glitter in real life... I have also found there are varying degrees of "satiness"... some are definately more glittery than others.

They are definately favorites!

I'm sure I will have a hard time finding some in my part of the coutry... I've never seen them even when I lived in the city of Quebec, Canada. So I will check but I'm sure they're not available around here!

You might be surprised, I did not buy any of mine, they were all born in my normal litters as I was raising mice for snake food! If you really want some you might have to just see who is breeding fancy mice (not snake food mice) in your area.

Good luck!
