I decided that for my birthday this year I could NOT buy myself any more corns. Reasonable, as I've been selling a bunch to make room for projects and so have painfully sold some snakes. Sooooo.... being the woman that I am, I justified some purchases.
LoL... NOT corns... so I followed my own rule!!
First up is Zhin - she's a darling sub adult Water Dragon. I had one years ago and saw her in a Fish and Bird store and just couldn't let her be there any longer. I LOVE these lizards and their sweet personality. She's the new snake room mascot perched on her log guarding for stray crickets and the occasional pinky....
Second up is The Gimster - Albino Western Hognose. I have a pair, named Gimley and Gimlet, however have wanted an Albino for a while to add to my projects. This wee guy is SO cute it hurts!! He's only 12 grams....
Great choice on the Water Dragon! I miss my boy Rex, and often think of getting another. I notice she has the common flat nose. To keep them from doing the back and forth along the glass, wearing down the nose, place a strip of black electrical tape along the bottom of the tank at eye level, and that should stop it. Worked for mine when I first got him, so he had an almost perfect nose, which is rare...

You know, I think people that have had Water Dragons really always want one! My guy Zulu I had 18 years ago...hehe. Poor guy did have a rather raw nose from the pet store aquarium. I'm not going to keep him in one. He gets free reign of the snake room. Thats great information though - do you know of any good forums or sites?

Ohhh... neat! I can't wait to see what he looks like
Your just going to let him go wherever in your snake room?! Thats awesome! lol lucky guy
Yes, the area he's in isn't as spacious as you'd imagine. He has a basking area with several climbing branches and a pool to lounge in. He does seem to enjoy the space though.
Water Dragons are, imho, an under-appreciated lizard. You've gotta love the richness of their colors.....and that's a gorgeous hoggie, as well!
Kudos!!
