And now for something completely different.....

I enjoyed both chats and thought they were fun and interesting.

I'm a simple person.

Sorry for not answering to this before. I too find this a bit short but honestly I feel a bit overload right now. Yeah it is my fault because I added a lot of new features and additions. But I can't commit for 2 hours every Sunday night. Even 1.30 hour is rough for me right now.

With the breeding season which started some weeks ago, the family, my printing business, etc, I have less and less time during the nights to be on internet.

So I really don't mind having these for 2 hours each Sunday since I think it is a great idea and I really appreciated the first 2 chat we had. But I would need some of you to be the moderator for these events when I can't be there.

I think the first half with a topic and the other half without could be great. This Sunday, we will have Connie and Chuck on the ACR. We will try this way of doing things, see how it goes.

Thanks for the input everyone.

Ya, the season is picking up for all of us. What are everyone's thoughts on making it an "every other week" type thing or even a "once a month" type event? Maybe we can have weekly scheduled chats, but just guest speakers once a month? That way you aren't so bogged down and we don't run out of guest speakers. Then a two hour guest speaker chat would be easier to handle. Just a thought and I'm curious what the rest of you think.

Wow, great ideas. My votes ...

* 20-30 minutes of structure to get things rolling (maybe the guest could get ideas based on listeners' input about what they'd like to hear from them),
* the rest q&a using the current format of "?,"
* two hours! two hours! two hours!
* weekly general chats,
* monthly special guests (so we don't run out too fast),
* a back-up moderator or two in case something comes up and Caroline can't be there

Dare I suggest the occasional herp-related, but not-cornsnake-specific, discussion?

1. The every other week, or once a month sounds good......with all-out, no holds barred, knock-out, non-topic sessions in between.
2. Two hours is cool, maybe even move it back 30 minutes or 1 hour if needed.
3. Split into 1/2 general meet and greet (b.s. for short), 1/2 topic related.
4. Stand-by moderators picked ahead of time who can be counted on in case we lose Caroline for some reason. Well, not lose her, but maybe she has something to do. If we lost her, we would all be lost on here. LOL

And if you run out of "special guests", just pass the mic to me and I will step up with a massive dose of Hair Nation Music talk while throwing in Sports commentary to boot at no extra charge.

I agree, these were the best suggestions. I think the topic idea is good, but shouldn't be strictly enforced as that's what makes it fun. I missed the chat with Joe because I had to cover for one of my employees, so that was a bummer, but the one with Don was fun because the questions covered a wide range of topics and it flowed. I can't see wanting to spend an hour talking about just the ACR in the upcoming chat when there's genetics, stargazers, breeding projects, publishing books, etc. that also interest me, and I'm sure a few others....

I think the once a month thing would be better than once a week; eventually the supply of "big names" to be interviewed will run out, and then what? I don't think resorting to "Hair Metal Chat with Galen" or "Teenage-Corn-hobbyist Chat with Carlos" would be so successful. Also, the weekly non-guest chats could get people using the chatroom regularly even when there isn't a special reason to do so.

IMO, the chat should be longer than 1.5 hours. We have plenty of moderators to back up Caroline if that's too long for her, so I don't think that'd be a problem.

The chat which was suppose to be tomorrow will be report to another week (probably next one). Connie will be out of town and I wanted to have more time to think this all better. I think 2h is better too.

Are we still planning a giant chat session without the guest? ... I need something to while away the time until Carol's lists open.
