Well this morning, I checked on a clutch and we've got one hatchling half way out and 7 more eggs starting to pip. Guess when I get home from work, I should have a whole family. these eggs went 61 days @ 84 degrees. Another clutch hits 60 days on Monday so I could see some of them this weekend....................and so it begins.
all hatchlings emerged from eggs but2 of them were stuck together by their tails and were dead when I opened the incubator, and 1 more was dead when I opened it ???? not sure why, they were all in the same place. Guess some make it and some don't.
One thing I did notice was that some of them were still connected to their egg by their umbilical cord. I didn't remove them until morning and by then they had come unattached. Don't they come out still attached when under stress?? Guess knowing these things comes with experience.
This pairing was a male from a friend of mine who is a 10 year old amel with unknown hets. And a female amel with unknown hets that I've had since she was a hatchling.
This is what we got-
10 amels
10 Snows
So they were both het for anery pretty neat as I wasn't expecting any snows ever really!! the three that died were amels so we have 10 snows and 10 amels.
